Naturally tint eyebrows?

i notice how some girls would tint their eyebrows to match their hair color especially if they have natural black eyebrows like me.





i'm asian and i would like to know how i can temporary tint my eyebrows by a few shades lighter other than dying it.





i would like to achieve a soft natural shade. i dont like the color eyebrow pencil look...it looks to unnatural.

Well I suggest buying a eyelash brush or clean an old mascara brush.Take either a pasty eye shadow closest to the color of your hair or go to a beauty supply shop and look for a mascara closest to that shade.Brush lightly over eyebrows.That's about as good as you'll get unless you go to a makeup studio and have them airbrushed or buy an airbrush gun.Hope this helps ^_^Naturally tint eyebrows?
Use hair bleach that is specifically for facial hair. Like the kind women use on hair on upper lips. It is weaker and won't mess up your eyebrows as much.

I was watching celebrity look a like.. and they were using a ';moustache'; coloring to change the color of eyebrows. I cannot say that it'll wash out right away if you don't like it, but, it works...
my advice is 2 use a i liner that is 1 or 2 shades lighter than your actual colour it works and it washes off with some water and/or soap and a little bit of pressure

You can put any hair color on your eyebrows, temp or permanant. But if you lighten them its not going to come off, its permenant. If you have blonde brows, just pencil in the color you want. Should i get my eyebrows tinted (pics)?

right im getting my eyebrows shaped this week cos they are an absolute mess and they need sorting out. i havent yet booked the appointment cos im not sure whether to get them tinted aswell as i have blonde hair and i dont know if my eyebrows will be visible once they are shaped, or if they are dark enough to not get tinted and use an eyebrow pencil instead.





one of my eyebrows also seems to have more hair or darker hair towards the outside than the other so i attatched 2 pics of the one with less/lighter hair. i know my eyebrows are awful which is why im getting them done, but i really need advice so i can book it in time for me to go back to college

just get them shaped, they should be dark enough to see them after and if not just use a pencil. An eye brow tinting doesnt last long ive tryed it many times and you will have too go get them tinted about every two weeks too keep them the same color. sooo i recommend definatly just getting a eye brow pencil =]

Basically I was born with strawberry blonde hair, over the years it went darker to a gingery colour. I dyed it then using Schwarzkopf XXLive to dye it bleach blonde. This obviously ruined my hair and it really gets me down. Also as its getting wintery I wanted to dye my hair brown. My hair cut is like rihannas but the problem is I have fair eyebrows ( I tint them though) and pale skin. I dont want to look like an idiot if I dye it brown! What can I do!

Dying it brown will most likely make it look more beautiful than it is. A chocolate brown for this season would look nice with your fair skin. You can cut a lemon in half and hold a half on each of your brows for 10 minutes, just be careful not to get juice in your eyes.





However, I wouldn't reccomend that, because eyebrows grow really fast, so your eyebrows would be, like, half dark half light, and that would look really funny (happened to me. ew!).





Instead, try doing some pretty lipstick or something, so that it takes attention from your brows. Put some sandy pink or corral lipstick on your lips, and coat with clear gloss. (Bath and Bodyworks mint stuff is my favorite!)

ok, this is impossible =S, even if lemon juice works, its under the sun, why don't u just dye it?? lemon juice in ur eye will hurt and won't work, another way u can do if no way u will dye is get a light colored eye liner, like lightest brown or beige and start drawing =D, i mean come on just get a cheap blonde dye, wait like 2 mnts, and ull get a light brown results, just keep watching it and take it off when the right color develop, get the $2.99 revlon at walmart.. cheap huh?

well depends what color is your hair now? if its darker then you like go to a better salon and ask them to lighten it a few shades, if its lighter then you like take an eyebrow pencil or brow gel and tint it.
You can fix it up with an eyebrow pencil/brush. If you don't like the color, go over it in a darker brown or black. It should work. Or go get them re-done!

NOOOO. Please don't tattoo them!! Dye them or fill them in with Eyebrow Pencils. I see you said it annoys you to do that daily, but girly, if the tattoo artist messes up or the outcome of the design of your eyebrows doesn't come out how you like, you will be looking at yourself in the mirror wishing you were still filling them in.
yiiiiikes just do it the annoying way. honestly, my friend's mom got hers tattooed on...she ALWAYS looks ANGRY. it is so frickin scary. she went to get it fixedand now she always looks surprised...

i have just been for an eyebrow shape and tint, i have blonde hair and i wanted my eyebrows to be a medium brown colour. But the beautician has dyed them det black! does anyone know of a way to get them lighter....it really is a disater! the tint should become lighter gradually. don't freak out and don't do anything to drastic before at least a week has passed.
Go back to the beauticians and make a complaint and say it's not what you wanted. Maybe they can sort them out for you.
hopefully itll go lighter after a few days try washing them with gentle dove soap every night but dont over do it as they might fall out

Personaly, i think if you dye your hair red, it will look better if you dye your eyebrows a light red . if not it will look a little off, and i think people will focus more on your eyebrows than on your hair (if you don't dye your eyebrows). :D

washing them a few times will take some of the sting out of the colour. they will probably fade in a day or two. i have done this before, and pretty soon they look much better.
put some lemon juice on them and go sit in the sun for a bit
A strong shampoo on a face cloth and rub them. This will take some of the colour out of them. They will fade over time too. I usually get mine done every 6 weeks and they have faded quite a lot by the ime the y need redone. It'll be ok. Remember it will look worse to you than it does to other people.
lightly dust them with talcum powder but don`t over do it as they will look clogged up, also trim them short(with hair clippers as this will thin them out and wont look as dark)
shave them off and just use a pencil. you can make them any shape you want then.


alternatively you could try washing your face A LOT. i doubt if the colour can withstand constant washing, at least to just lighten them slightly.

i am a qualified therapist and when we have clients come in who find that it is to dark after tinting we just wipe over with surgical spirit a few times this lightens it without removing it completly if you just leave it it will fade within 3-4days

what you do is squeeze the juice out of a lemon on your eyebrows and sit out in the sun for at least half an hour. that will definitely lighten them.

but this is just a guess...you could try it but i don't know the exact effect it could have on your hair...

Are you sure it's just because you aren't used to it? When I first got mine done I literally cried because I thought it was so dark and horrible, but my friends who knew I had it done said it looked awesome and my other friends said something definitely looked different but they couldn't tell what, so it obviously wasn't that bad!!

They probably actually look good. It's hard to get used to a change like that. And when it's smack dab in the middle of your face it's more noticeable. I have a friend who gets hers tinted and she won't see her boyfriend for the first 48 hours after she has it done because she thinks it starts off too dark. Give it 48 hours and it will settle down, and also you will get more used to it.

lots of milk, organiic whole milk, good honey regularly, good for weight loss. and fruit jiice, pineapple juice is ace as is oj, lots of this stuff, and real meat and fish not burgers..... salads and tomatoes and plenty of real dark fruit too.
Yeah i would get them tinted as it will look a lot better without it costing too much !

I had my eyebrows threaded and tinted yesterday.I have had it done before with no problem.Today my eyebrows really hurt! They are swollen and there is a couple of small blisters in there.I went to my usual place and had the same girl that always does my eyebrows.To make it worse,I am going on holiday on Monday! Try applying ice to the swelling. Maybe you have developed a sensitivity to the dye? It seems ill advised to thread and tint in the same session. Maybe you have had an allergic reaction to the tint. Savalon Cream is good it's a antiseptic healing cream.

You likely had a bad reaction to the tinting (not the threading) and you just need to leave it alone for a bit.

I dont think you should either. What if they are done too dark? You'll have to pay someone else to do it. You may have a regrowth period (blonde roots on eyebrows, ack!)





There are lots of great products you can use that are less risky: tinted brow gels, powders, and pencils, which I am sure you already use.





PLUS, lots of brunettes have light eyebrows. I think it can be fetching.

Sorry, but with dark hair you need dark eyebrows, to avoid looking like a fish... no offense...


Also remember to pluck those babies if you do decide to tint them. You don't want to over do it.





Good tip: I usually go to a beauty salon to do these things and they have specials where they pluck and tint your brows and lashes. They will also use a colour that looks good on you!

You kind of have to, or it's going to look worse. I mean you can't have a head full of dark hair and then blond eyebrows.
I'm sure it will...you want to try and stay within 2 shades of your natural colour, if you can. But as long as the hair colour looks good on you...the eyebrows should be fine.

Don't ever dye your own eyebrows. If you must, ask a professional to do it.





For a quicker, cheaper and safer alternative, use an eyebrow pencil to fill in the color you want. Ask a cosmetician at the pharmacy. show her the hair product you intend on trying so she has a good idea of what color you want for your eyebrows. Yes, you'll have to do it everyday, but it's better than the risk of blinding yourself.

the very first thing is that the salon does a patch test as they do for hair colour 24 hrs before you get it done. If they don't suggest this go somewhere else if you go ahead without a test you' risk itchy sore eyes at the least.

Hi! I'm a blonde too, and I've had my eyelashes tinted twice at a day spa.


It usually lasts 6-8 weeks, or until they fall out on their own.


1. They lay you down, put pads over your eyes to cool them, then place semicircular pads under and above your eyelashes while they tint them.


2. It usually takes 20-30 minutes depending upon whether you get any other treatments, like eyebrows, facial, etc.


3. It burns and itches. It's not supposed to hurt, but being blonde, we have more sensitive skin. You're gonna wanna rub your eyes like crazy while they're doing it, and afterwards for a good half to one hour.


4. I loved it- my lashes are naturally long, so dyeing them dark brown, I didn't need macara. No clumps or anything, just long dark lashes.


5. As I said, 6-8 weeks depending on your hair growth.

I get my eyebrows tinted everytime I go into the salon and have my hair done about every 6-8 weeks. I love doing it, it doesnt damage or sting or anything like that. I suggest doing it, but your eyebrows are always going to be a bit darker than your hair but it will definately even you out.

You don't have to go to a salon to get them tinted. You can do it yourself at home. Just make sure you get a natural shade and don't leave the tint on for a long time. Hey- and if it goes bad, don't worry about it, eyebrow hair grows quickly.

Some spas offer eyebrowing tinting, I've gone to Benefit and it cost around $15-20, i can't remember specifically it is a esethetican service and so the person doing it has to be licensed.Getting your eyebrows tinted?
You can actually do this yourself, if you are careful and do not get any in your eyes (I've done it).


Any hair dye kit will work.


The only problem is, the color does not last a really long time because your eyebrows grow and the color fades.

It doesn't last long and that stuff is dangerous if it gets into your eyes.

You are not to young, taking care of yourself at a early stage is essential to grow up beautiful. However I do dye and wax my eyebrows since I am blond, my eyebrows is also ';blond';. I usually dye them only 1 shade darker. Waxing and dyeing is quick, but pls let a professional do the job. Waxing is less painful then plucking and much quicker. (takes around 15min).

well its not wrong, some people like me have really dark hair, naturally and do not have dark enough brows, I dye them a little darker to match my hair, not wrong at all, if anything its better that I do that then look a little strange, go ahead and do what you think will improve your appearance, just don't over do it =)

i think getting them plucked/shaoed%26amp;dyed is a wonderful thing instead of filling them in with dark eyeshadows or eyeliners like other people do.

If you go to a really good reoutable salon, they may have a computer system that will take your photo and adjust bits of you to see prior to the possible tint job what it will look like. Trouble once its actually done , thats it.

If you want to get your eyebrows tinted, see a proffessionalist, because if you try it by yourself and get the dye in one or both of your eyes, it can make that eye go blind. In my opinion, I would get them tinted because having brown hair with really blonde eyebrows would be weird!

If you're getting it professionally done, then sure. If you're doing it yourself, then stay away from the eyes because it can make you go blind in one or both eyes. I would stay away from eyelashes in both cases, though.

it's up to you but personally i hate seeing brunettes with blonde eyelashes it looks stupid so i would say yeah, i get mine done just to darken them a bit because they are light and i have brunette hair. Most spa's won't do it under sixteen, but have your parents call. If they call and give you full permission it might be okay. Especially because a manicure/pedicure is not a big deal, neither are eyebrows. Those are things you could get done at a nail salon so I don't see why the spa would not do it :)

i don't see why not. i had a facial when i was ur age. same with the mani-pedi. and my sister has been getting her brows done since she was 10. the tint, i'm not sure. but they can't deny any treatment. about the under 16, it would be best for your parents to call and set up the appointment.
If your parents give consent, and some places will also need your parents there, they should be fine with it.
Yes they will. I starting getting my eyebrows waxed when I was 11. I'm now 12. It hurts at first but you get used to it very fast. Tint, im not sure. But they can shape your eyebrows. Have fun! :)

The problem with dying your eyebrows with regular hair dye is that the dye is more concentrated; no matter how long you leave it on, you'll probably end up with darker color eyebrows than you want. Also, regular hair dye stains the skin beaneath the hair. Since eyebrows are less dense, the staining will be very noticeable (and trust me the staining is hard to get off!)


More importantly the main reason to not use regular hairdye is the amonia and other chemicals contained it it. There's the risk of getting it in your eyes and that's very dangerous.Can you tint your eyebrows with hair dye?

Step3Apply a very small amount of the hair dye in dabs to the roots of your eyebrows. I find that it is easiest to dab the hair dye on with the cotton swab, but it is very helpful to make sure that it is evenly applied by combing it through with the old toothbrush.


Step4If your eyebrow hair is thicker than the hair on your head, you will have to leave the dye on slightly longer than the instructions call for.


Step5Using soap and water or facial wash, vigorously scrub your eyebrows and rinse all of the hair dye off your face. If the tint is not to your liking, you can reapply and try to get the tint darker or lighter.
no it is not safe, please do not do that. go to the beauty supply and see if any specific products have some on the market, probably not, one mistake and damaging or blinding you is not worth the finanacial responsibilities so manufactures do not make it, last time I looked though. They would look horrid growing in, they would be impossible to do the roots like hair, they would be a nightmare, find a good made for eyebrows pencle, looks real and causes no damage.

if its 拢12 for both together yes that is a good price. infact its a little too cheap for a normal salon as its normally about that for each procedure (going from all the salons around where i am in the uk)...i would personally ask if they have a qualification in tinting as some people dont and it could cause some serious problems if tint gets into your eyes as without a qualification any liability insurance they have would be invalid.


also you shouldnt be waxed and tinted in the same day as it can cause a reaction as the folicles are open and the skin has trauma from the wax which suggests again there is something fishy.

Yeah its totally okay. Just make sure no tint falls in your eyes, use a small brush or maybe a toothbrush. That way itll be like using gel in your hair and it wont drip. Anyways good luck : )

Bummer on the color. You probably didn't need to go darker. It turned orange because it wasn't lightened enought the first time. Next time find someone you trust first. Are they just tinting or are they waxing too? If it's just tinting then I think you can get it done at a nail salon. However, I wouldn't get waxing done at a nail salon. I've done it 4-5 times when I was being cheap and I always ended up with pimples, redness, pain, and ugly eyebrows.

I have recently dyed my hair a auburn brown colour with a few blonde highlights, my hair is still rather dark however. Yes but i would go to a beauty salon and get it done properly. If you leave the tint on too long it could go too dark (or orange if your trying to lighten them). It is usually no more than 拢10 in the UK.

I don't think you'll look good with lighter eyebrows because, in most cases, the natural colour of one's eyebrows is the one that suits them best. I would rather advise you to change the tone from colder to warmer or the other way round, or get it darker but not to go ligher. I really don't think it's a good idea. Go to a salon, they will be able to help you with this, but I have never heard of anybody trying to get their eyebrows lighter, so I'm not sure if they will have the products to get your eybrows lighter in a salon.

If you want your eyelahses darker. It works better on lighter hair color. If you have brown eyelashes, there won't be much changes.

I actually had my eyebrows dyed three days ago so that they would match my newly dyed light brown hair. For the record, I had dark brown hair and black eyebrows before.


Anyway, it was cheap and I did notice that some sections of my eyebrows were a light brown colour but it looked patchy because the arches were still black. I now even it out using brown eyeshadows.





If you have dark eyebrows like I do, the end result may be similar to mine should you have them tinted. If you have fine, lightish black eyebrows, go for it! Make sure you have it done at a beauty salon that is fully qualified to perform these procedures because it is risky.





I wouldn't recommend getting your eyelashes tinted though, that sounds really dangerous.
I have used tints at home that I have bought from Sallys Beauty Supply, on both my eyebrows and lashes. Both worked amazingly well, and I still have good vision :) Make sure you take your time with it, and have someone else do it. Its much cheaper to do it at home than at a salon. Sallys has both black and brown dye.
eyebrows are fine to tint. but please dont tint your lashes. this has left more than one woman blind.

Many beauticians will not recommend it, even on the packet of the hair colorant, but... I've done it several times and it looked good.








A tip but :


1. Take great care NOT getting the color in your eyes, put the color on an ear bud to avoid excess colorant.


2. Do not leave the color on your eyebrow the same length of time of your hair, leave it say 10 to 15 minutes only.

well if you try tinting them into a light brown and then tint them again into a lighter color maybe you can get a blondish color, thats what i did when i dyed my hair and it got way too dark.
Head and Shoulders shampoo is known to flush out excess dye on hair - rub some over the eyebrows, just don't get it in your eyes!!

As a hair dresser of 11 years I have done lots of eyebroe tinting. Your eyebrows will change as they grow out, etc... unless you use a lots of make remover. then they could change quicker. I don't think that it is always worth spending the money unless you want to do it yourself and by an over the counter hair prduct. Then you can mix as little as needed at each time. If you choose to do that then do not get a bleach product only a ligher color and make sure that you close the bottles back tightly after each use or it will lose its oxidation. If you have a good hairdresser she shouldn't charge you anything when she lightens your hair.

Tinting actually makes it darker so don't say that if you go to a salon lol . There are bleaching kits you can buy in the drugstore . Leave it on for about a half a minute which is lightening your eyebrows and take it off it should say face and body on the bleach or just face .


Lemon juice won't work because it is drying as well as it'lll just get absorbed in the skin . On top of that you would have to make it with something else so that it is a glue ( i saw it on blogspot once ) But you are if it does lighten which it won't .It might go orange.


I think for Professional and overall good appearance I would get them done at a salon . Heck you could ask if they would throw in a bleach of the eyebrows with the Blonde hair dye job for her head ! . I would also tell you friend that she will need to prob. use repair masks to heal her hair after Blonde dying .
personally i would go get it done at the salon/ hairdresser it cheap enough to have done and the results will be better than if you were to try it urself! my sister attempted doing t herself and ended up turning them ginger!! now a good look'; i wouldn't reccommend lemon juice if you get it in your eyes you will soon know abou t it and to be honest i dont htink its foolproof!

I've been getting my very blonde eyebrows tinted/waxed at spa that is well known in my city.


I'm moving away in 2 weeks and now that I'm a student I don't have the 25$ to be blowing every couple weeks to get it done, plus I don't want to go somewhere where I can't trust them to do a good job.


Is there something I can use to tint them at home so I don't have to get it done professionally so often?


I know you can use an eyebrow pencil or powder but I find after awhile it just doesn't work anymore-you gota tint them.

believe it or not, I dye my eyebrows....put petroleum jelly all around your eyebrow so it dosent dye your skin or run....thne use a qtip to apply small thin amount of dye and wash after 5-7 minutes....for eye lashes just use mascara everyday is all I can think of.Eyelash and eyebrow tinting...?

After a demonstration of my brows I bought 2 items....a very small container...it has the color I need on one side,and tinted wax on the other. I also bought the applier. Tinting your brows will only make them darker, it wont help to make them look thicker....unless they are very blonde. Brow powder helps to make them look more dense (thicker). Also, having permenant makeup (tatooing) helps a great deal. I recomend powder, in a shade a little darker than your natural colour. Lise Watier makes a good one. (if you are in Canada) Also, Elizabeth Arden makes a good brow powder.

so i have extreeeemely blonde eyebrows, and its really quite frustrating knowing the fact i basically have no eyebrows, so whats your opinion on eyebrow tinting? does it work? and is it worth it?

IAs a former hair dresser, I can tell you tinting your eyebrows works and lasts until it grows off. It could be costly though.(?) If money is an object, why not go where there's a Sally's Beauty Supply store? You can buy professional products there for a cheap price. They have some great eyebrow pencils in natural shades that will match your blonde hair. If you don't have one in your area, go to any dept. store and ask someone at your favorite makeup counter.
I wear Bare Escentuals Mineral make-up, and they have some eye shadows that are really good.


But any eye shadows will work!


I use a thin slanted brush and damp it just a little and pick a bit of a darker colored eye shadow than my eyebrows natural color and start from the thickest part of the eyeebrow and brush outward toward the temple, and add more to darken it from there if you'de like.





After that I apply Clear mascara/eyebrow gel to it!





It works really good!


I naturally have BLOND eyebrows, and it works for me!

you can buy brow pencils anywhere they sell makeup. i really like maybellines define a brow, it combs with a comb to! m.a.c. also makes a good one.

youre going to have to dye them
first of all, shape them (if those are yours in the picture) second, i color mine in with eyeshadow using a small angle brush. try to find a shadow or a liner/pencil similar to your color and then use a brush to help blend them out so the hair won't look grainy (i use to use a pencil but i like how shadow looks better)

what do you mean by tinting? The only way you can make them lighter is by getting a lighter hair dye and dying your eyebrows. Or get sun-in spray and put some on your eyebrows and when you go swimming stay out in the sun and it will brighten the color of your eyebrows.

Well, its just when people want to darken or lighten their eyebrows, wich you just go to a make-up store and ask for a shade that will suit you, and basically you might want to use a tinting pencil, its just like a pencil that you brush over your eyebrows and it darkens or lightens them, so its basically make-up for your eyebrows??

it's hard to predict how light your eyebrows will seem against a darker hair color.

not sure how many applications but, your eyebrows are always supposed to be 2 shades darker than your hair color you said they are already brown, ask the person who is doing your hair, they will do it for you. but if they are already brown i dont think it would matter too much!

what will happen when your eyebrows grow out a little? then the roots wil be blonde but the rest will be dark brown

if you are getting it done professionally [which i recommend you do] just ask her/him if you should have your eyebrows done, if they think so, they'll do it for you.
I also have light blue eyes and dirty blonde hair..i've gone dark brown before too and I wnated to do the same thing. You dont need to tint you eyebrows though, there supposed to be a bit darker then your hair color. Plus if you do when you eyebrows start to grow in a bit you'll see the blonde in the roots and trust me it looks horrible!
one application should be enough.leave your eyebrows alone.be careful though brown on blonde can go green.if you get a dark brown with a slight bit of red in it it will not go green but see what other people say im not an expert.

Your brows DO NOT need tinting-they are so pretty, but do need waxing.





Take Halle麓s picture to a waxer, and tell the person you want them waxed just like hers.

no. i think your eyebrows are fine the way they are. maybe a little waxing, but don't over do it or you'll look overplucked like a chicken.
go to the salon and let her use thread to make the shape with tweezers.you can always fill the gap with brown eyeshadow using the brush..


No tinting,don't make them thin,thick is always beautiful :)
Don't get them waxed. Get them threaded. Its much easier, less painful, the hair doesn't grow back as quickly, and the shape comes out a lot better.

Your eyebrow color is the perfect color it should be but I would definetly get them waxed and when the hair starts to grow back do little touch ups yourself
I think your eyebrows just need a little plucking to just shape it(if you dont know how to just ask one of your family members im sure they'll help you).

yes i would get them waxed if i was you but not tinted or it will look strange as they are the same colour as your hair at the mo so they look normal!

i think just waxing them would help shape your face and bring out your eyes better. You have an awesome arch to work with.
I couldn't see your picture but if your brows are think and you want to thin them down some I would suggest going and getting them waxed. then you can keep them plucked from there. just remember to only pluck from the bottom, never ever the top and keep your arch over your pupil. to many girls thin theirs out waaaay too much and it looks really creepy!

Your eyebrows do not need to be tinted or dyed. I would go to a professional and get them waxed then you can keep them up by tweezing.

Generally speaking you shouldn't lighten your eyebrows. The only people with light eyebrows are those with naturally light hair, and generally they darken them with an eyebrow pencil. When you have light blonde hair, you should use a light brown eyebrow pencil.





If you do decide to dye them, be very careful, and have it done proffesionally. Don't just use the same bleach you use on your hair. They make special dyes that you should use. If you use regular bleach the fumes can damage your eyes, and you could go permanently blind.

You can get some bleach (not household, but bleach specifically for your eyebrows. You might know that, but just making sure) to lighten your eyebrows, but you want to be very careful because brows that are too light look weird.
